       Internship at

Camp Albrecht Acres

   Summer Counselor at

     Camp Albrecht Acres

This internship dealt with different cultural backgrounds, different mental and physical handicaps, as well as accomplishing various tasks around the office. I learned how to handle difficult situations, how to speak to people from all spectrum's, and received a better understanding of how nonprofits work. Not only did this experience teach me the physical side of what special needs individuals need, but it showed me the mental and spiritual side as well. I worked with counselors from other countries, group homes, parents, donors, campers, and learned first hand how different communication can be depending on the people that are involved.

This experience helped my become a better communicator, a more appreciative person, and overall gave me a true insight of how nonprofits work day in and day out. This internship was phenomenal, and I learned things I couldn't of learned working in an office all summer. I highly recommend this internship to others, and truly believe this experience will help me in my future career someday.

Past volunteer experiences working with special needs.
